2017 Flag Football Kick-Off

2017 Flag Football Season Kick-Off

“Hey everyone…Coach K here!  We hope you’ve had a great summer so far!  The new school year is about to begin and we’ve been getting ready for the official kick-off of the 2017 flag football season!

As you may have noted, our website says practices would start this week – – – however, due to lots of families (and coaches) taking one last vacation, we will delay the start of practice to coincide with the start of school.

Therefore, our first practice will take place during the week of August 7.  The exact day and time is determined by each head coach and they will let you know all the details.

In addition to practices starting the week of August 7, the rest of the month will include a flag football Jamboree on Saturday, August 19th, with our first regular season game occurring on the following Saturday on August 26th.

After these events in August, we will have six or seven more regular season games in September and October.  Games are on Saturdays (unless there is a rain-out makeup) and can be at any time during the day (although we try to play most of our flag games between 8am and 2pm).  Our home games will be played at Northview High School, and our away games will be at other schools or parks in the metro-Atlanta area.  After the regular season ends, playoffs begin which are single-elimination, and then the final championship game which usually occurs mid-November.

The mascot for all of our teams this year is the “TITANS” – and our colors are Silver, Navy Blue and White.

Our K-5 teams will play in the North Metro Football League (NMFL); 6-8 graders will play in a different league.  The NMFL prepares the season schedule and as soon as we receive the official schedule we will distribute to each head coach  We expect the season schedule to be ready just before our Jamboree on August 19th.  Please keep your Saturdays open and flexible during football season!”
